During my time as a #career photographer, I’ve had the #privilege to travel all over the #world exercising my talents on the various #landscapes and sights that I came across.
This has meant that I rarely saw the #country I lived in! To my shame, there are many sights that I’d love to #photograph, only to be told ‘Its been done to death!’ What on earth does that mean?
I had the #opportunity to visit a long sought after ‘Lone #Tree’ in #Malham, Yorkshire that a close friend, #Barry #Quatermass told me he could guide me to. OK, it may have been photographed many times by others, but not by me…… You may notice it forms part of the opening sequence for the #Sky #Arts Channel, which is what drew me to it in the first place.
There are so many images I wish I’d taken first, but this will be the case for every photographer that comes second, third and everyone else after. Never stop taking photos of stuff thats ‘been done to death’, you may be the last one to capture it due to jealous or envious people that want to see the world burn. Think of the landmark of the ‘Sycamore #Gap’ which will never be the same again or the fungi photographer that kicks over a prime specimen just so that no one else can take it!
